Then the next morning we got up for the ride. We went with some friends from church and had a great time. This trip was a little different than the last one in Texas. We got to sit in the eating car and buy treats. We also stopped off in a town for about an hour and a half. The town had set up bounce houses, book walk, sit on Santa, a choir and booths. It was really cute.
The Elves greeted us as we boarded the train. Owen wasn't too excited to get up early.
Our new friends The Cluffs went with us.
The train conductor read the story of the Polar Express and then they had a magician aboard the train.
The town had a really cute activity. It was like a cake walk but instead the kids got to pick out a book.
Two visits with Santa made the trip complete!
What fun traditions do you have?

Oh, that is so adorable!!! My kids would never ever ride a train. We've never done it. Grace has the same jammies as your friend's little girl!
Got your card yesterday. So cute!
How fun! Every Christmas Eve, we watch "Small One". Hubby and I having been doing it since our first Christmas together. It was always my plan to have this tradition with my kids. Four Christmases later, when our first girl watched it with us, I got a little teary-eyed. I love spending time as a family!
What a fun tradition. I love the book and movie - this sounds like it would add to both so well. Your family does such neat things together.
Ahh! How cute is that. I like the book walk idea too! What a great idea ll around. We need that here. Guess I will have to check out the train station!
I love to drive around looking at all the Christmas lights in Christmas eve. I did it every year growing up and now I do the same with my tykes.

Trains, boys and Santa....perfect combination.

Wow, that looks so fun! My kids would LOVE to do something like that. They do it here in TX somewhere? I need info. ;)
We started a new tradition this year that I am excited about. We had our own family "Christmas Party" to put up the tree and get it all decorated. We had a nice dinner, fancy dishes, treats, snacks, Christmas music, etc. It was really fun.
How fun! We missed the Polar Express this year. It is in Park City and we didn't want to drive up just to ride the train. However we will do it next year and just make a big trip out of it. Your pictures are too cute.
That is the most fun tradition I've ever heard! You'll have to give me all the details! And I'm so glad we're blogging buddies!
what a cute idea! Thanks for sharing it with us.
I love the picture of you and Owen. Darling!
Oh I am so jealous! That sounds like so much fun!
Jon and I watch A Christmas Story while we wrap presents and play Santa on Christmas Eve night. I love those few hours every year.
Oh what a FUN adventure! I bet your boys loved every minute of it. I'd love to take a train ride to visit Santa. :)
I think the train in Texas is the Tarantula that runs from Grapevine to the Stockyards. It is always the Kindergarten field trip. We don't have trains here in Boise :-( Your boys are at such a fun age, hopefully they will stay fun. I think I have a bunch of preteens from the tude I get around here sometimes.
Hello Lunt Family! We got your Christmas card today & dropped by to visit you on the web. We are so glad you have a blog for us to keep tabs on you! :)
